Learn with A Fully Accredited Driving Instructor Trainer

My driving instructor training focuses on practical teaching skills and each part of the qualification process. Read on below to learn about the specific details of the course I offer and how it will teach you to be a well-rounded professional driving instructor.

The qualification process involves three parts:

  •  Part 1 – Theory Knowledge
  • Part 2 – Driving Ability
  • Part 3 – Instructional Ability

The Aim of the Course

The key is for you to be able to coach a student to be a safe driver. You are not teaching someone to pass their driving test - you are coaching someone to be a safe driver, thereby as a consequence, they will pass their test. The mantra is:

The truly professional instructor isn't teaching their student to pass a test, but how to be a safe driver!

"Tell Me and I'll Forget" "Show Me and I'll Remember" " Involve Me and I'll Understand"!

How is the course structured?

It is important to appreciate that trainees and students alike, all 'learn' in different ways. Therefore, our courses have a start and end point; your trainer will adapt the course were needed, in order to satisfy the needs of the individual?

The basis of the course is easy to follow step-by-step training consisting of three parts and follows:

  • Part 1 – Theory
  • Part 2 – Practical Driving
  • Part 3 – Instructing & Interacting with Students

We’ll take you through each part step by step. Each part will build upon your existing knowledge and prepare you to pass your ADI tests. We will work together, explaining and demonstrating everything, and showing you how to apply each new skill.

How to plan simple, effective lessons:

  • You’ll learn how to deliver a lesson appropriate to the needs of your pupil.
  • You’ll learn how to deliver a safe lesson, where you effectively manage the risks so your pupil can learn in a safe environment.
  • You’ll deliver a lessons that works, were learning takes place and you develop a better, safer, more responsible driver.
  • You will have your own lesson plans in order to deliver professional tuition.
  • You’ll start by learning how to plan a lesson, then practice delivering it to your trainer (who will be playing the role of your pupil). Once you have achieved the hours of training required by the DVSA, you can then gain valuable work experience with real pupils on our Trainee Licence program.

Key to your training will be sitting in and observing lessons being given by fully approved driving instructors.

Why train with us?

We have years of experience training future instructors. We’ve been successfully helping people like you to become driving instructors since 2013.

The DVSA recommends that you choose an ORDIT accredited instructor trainer who has experience in training PDI's.

As mentioned earlier, your training is structured to suit you as an individual. You’ll have a step by step course to follow.

ALL PART 2 & 3 TRAINING TAKES PLACE IN-CAR!

Once you’ve passed the Part 2 Practical Driving Test and completed forty hours Part 3 training, you can apply for a Trainee Licence (TL) and start teaching pupils! The TL is available to candidates that have reached a satisfactory standard. You can then gain valuable work experience as a Potential Driving Instructor (PDI) in preparation for the final Part 3 test.
